YOUR BRAIN BODY CONNECTION
Your journey with primitive reflex integration starts here.
THE BODY BRAIN CONNECTION
Ever wondered why some people are "naturally clumsy"? Or why some people are more emotionally resilient than others? Or why some kids can read and write better?

Our abilities - how we organise our bodies, thoughts, and feelings - are dependent on how our brains are wired.

And how our brains are wired depend on the innate reflex integration programme we all go through as an infant.

However, sometimes this programme can get interrupted by pre/post birth stressors and glitches, leading to retained reflexes and neurological immaturity.

This is reflected in poor posture and physical organisation, emotional overwhelm or disorganisation, and/or difficulties with organising thought and completing academic-type activities.

We are all born with primitive reflexes. And reflex integration is an important part of a child's neurological development.
Primitive Reflexes
Primitive reflexes - also called newborn reflexes - are involuntary motor responses.

These reflexes provide triggers for movement that is essential for the development of neural connections and pathways - laying the foundations of posture, learning, sensory processing, emotions and behaviour.

Movement is essential for babies. It is movement that helps grow the brain.

These reflexes are only active and present during the first few months after birth. Once the reflexes have done its job, it will integrate and lead to the establishment of lifelong postural and protective reflexes.
Reflex Integration
When primitive reflexes are not fully developed or integrated, it disrupts the neural maturity development of an individual.
If you have naturally poor balance or poor posture - there is probably a primitive reflex behind it.
Children who are struggling at school or have behavioural probalems at home will probably have retained reflexes.
Primitive reflexes give us a road map showing how our brains are wired.
Rhythmic Movement Training
Rhythmic Movement Training (RMT) is a primitive reflex integration protocol - that mimics the developmental movements that an infant makes in order to generate or improve connections in the brain.

Here at Your Brain Body Connection, we use RMT movements to enhance the plasticity of the brain - which is the ability of the brain to modify its connections, or re-wire itself.

Using this ability, we are able to create and strengthen the neurological networks necessary to overcome postural, learning and emotional challenges - a retraining, or repatterning, that the system needs to undergo in order to undo the postural habits and patterns we form when primitive reflexes remained active.

BENEFITS
Who can benefit from Reflex Integration?
Everyone!
RMT as a reflex integration protocol is safe for both children and adults.

Some areas where it is helpful:
Focus & Attention
ADD/ADHD
Reading & Writing
Emotional regulation / Meltdowns
Sensory Processing
Ease of movement
Posture

The aim of RMTi is not to fix people's problems;
it is to help them to overcome challenges or learn how to cope with them more effectively - helping people develop, function, and feel well.
